Introduction
We are seeking an experienced and driven Credit Controller to join our dynamic finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for a number of key duties including the collection of monies from customers, reconciliation of accounts, allocation of monies received to relevant accounts on SAP, customer maintenance, query resolution, and the recording of journals for capturing into SAP.
Job description

  • Ensure timeous and accurate allocation of receipts based on customer remittance advices
  • Establish prompt escalation of non-payment from customers to maintain an acceptable standard of Debtor Days (DSO) throughout the financial year
  • Communicate with internal and external customers regarding the status of unpaid invoices or queries, ensuring customers are kept informed where de-activation of services is to be carried out
  • Maintain accurate records for audit purposes, including changes made to Masterfile data, remittance advices for proof of payment allocations, journals, and related documentation
  • Where required, provide proof of reconciliation between Albatross and SAP Prepaid account balances, including receipt capturing to ensure accounts remain in balance at all times
  • Take initiative in investigating and resolving issues on customer accounts
  • Proactively submit process improvement recommendations to the immediate superior by reviewing the effectiveness and efficiency of the overall process, highlighting evidence of negative trend analysis, in order to continuously improve the quality of daily operational tasks, functions, and objectives

Minimum requirements

  • Matric
  • Credit Management Diploma or short courses (advantageous)
  • Microsoft Office Suite experience
  • 5–10 years' Accounts Receivable experience
  • SAP experience essential

  • Strong communication skills to effectively handle customer accounts and queries both verbally and electronically
  • The capability to ensure customer satisfaction, taking initiative in investigating and resolving issues where necessary
  • Strong collection skills to confidently manage 300–500 customer accounts
  • Excellent time management skills to ensure deadlines are met during monthly and year-end closure periods
