Introduction
Electronics Engineer to design embedded electronics in CBi-electric’s multidisciplinary R&D department, such as smart breakers, smart meters, automated test equipment and other protection-related products. You will be involved in end-to-end engineering design processes, including concept development, design, simulation, assembly, coding, integration, and testing of electronic assemblies, systems, or embedded software. The ideal candidate enjoys a technical challenge, takes ownership of individual responsibilities, yet enjoys working in team to hone your skills and build a career in a strong company.
Job description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, prototype, and implement analogue and mixed-signal embedded electronics for CBi-electric products and equipment for manufacturing processes.
  • Perform electrical simulations and analyses to validate designs.
  • Conduct testing of prototypes and final products to ensure compliance with specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare documentation, including design specifications, bill of materials, test reports, and instructions.
  • Perform research investigations for quality improvements and implement corrective actions.
  • Acquire and apply an understanding of the relevant product standards to which CBi products are certified.
  • Manage project timelines and deliverables, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Coordinate with and support internal and external role players (e.g. Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Process Engineering, Project Management, Certification, Tool Design, Procurement, Suppliers, Sales, Export) to support innovation, design, and manufacturing.

Minimum requirements


Bachelor’s degree in Electronic/Electrical (light current) Engineering (BEng, BSc (Eng) at NQF Level 8)
3–5 years’ experience in an electronics design role (design, simulate, PCB CAD, prototyping)
Demonstrated competency in design, PCB design and prototyping
