Introduction
The Technical Sales Representative is responsible for developing and growing sales within an assigned territory by promoting CBI products to customers, consultants, contractors, municipalities, utilities, OEMs, and distributors. The incumbent will identify new business opportunities, build and maintain strong customer relationships, provide technical product support and training, increase market share, and achieve sales and profitability targets while professionally representing the company and its brand.
Job description
Business Development & Sales Performance:
•Identify and secure new business opportunities within the assigned territory.
•Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets through effective sales execution.
•Develop and implement territory, account, and customer growth plans.
•Maximise revenue opportunities through proactive customer engagement.
•Maintain an active sales pipeline and identify opportunities for market expansion.
Customer Relationship Management:
•Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and key stakeholders.
•Conduct regular customer visits in line with approved call plans.
•Provide exceptional customer service and support.
•Resolve customer queries, complaints, and warranty-related issues.
•Strengthen customer retention through ongoing engagement and relationship building.
Technical Sales & Product Support:
•Provide technical product advice and application support to customers.
•Recommend suitable product solutions based on customer requirements.
•Deliver product training and technical presentations to customers and internal teams.
•Support tender submissions, product specifications, and technical documentation.
•Promote products through demonstrations, exhibitions, and marketing initiatives.
Market Intelligence & Sales Administration:
•Monitor competitor activities, market trends, and customer requirements.
•Provide regular market feedback and insights to management.
•Prepare sales forecasts, activity reports, and customer visit reports.
•Maintain accurate CRM records and customer information.
•Identify opportunities to improve sales processes, customer service, and product offerings

Minimum requirements
•National Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Business Management, or a related field.
•3-5 years' experience in technical sales, key account management, or business development.
•Customer relationship management experience.
•5-8 years' experience within the electrical manufacturing industry.
•Experience selling low-voltage electrical products.
Special Requirements:
•Extensive travel within assigned sales territory.
•Overnight travel as business requires.
•Ability to work flexible hours.
•Valid driver's licence with a clean driving record.
•Ability to present to large customer groups and technical audiences.
•Maintain confidentiality of company and customer information.
•3-5 years' experience in technical sales, key account management, or business development.
•Customer relationship management experience.
•5-8 years' experience within the electrical manufacturing industry.
•Experience selling low-voltage electrical products.
