Introduction
The Operations Manager is accountable to the Commercial Executive for all functions of this role. The position is responsible for developing and implementing the regional commercial business plan, ensuring profitable growth in sales and revenue through effective planning, execution, and management of a supportive regional sales team.
Job description

Strategic & Financial Planning:
•Develop and execute regional sales strategies aligned to company objectives.
•Establish sales targets, budgets, forecasts, and regional performance plans.
•Analyse sales performance, identify variances, and implement corrective actions.
•Drive business growth by identifying market opportunities and evolving customer needs.
•Lead continuous improvement initiatives across the sales operation.
Sales Operations Management:
•Oversee regional sales performance through effective management of regional teams.
•Consolidate and analyse regional sales reports, market trends, and competitor activities.
•Facilitate weekly performance review meetings with Regional Managers.
•Provide pricing recommendations for special projects and strategic opportunities.
•Evaluate and recommend the opening or closing of customer accounts based on commercial viability.
Customer & Market Development:
•Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders.
•Identify new business opportunities that support long-term growth objectives.
•Monitor market trends and competitor activities to support strategic decision-making.
•Recommend product line enhancements and market expansion initiatives.
•Support product training, customer engagement, promotions, exhibitions, and industry events.
Governance & Asset Management:
•Ensure company assets and equipment, and property are effectively managed and secured.
•Maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, and governance requirements.
Leadership & People Management:
•Lead, coach, mentor, and develop Regional Managers and sales teams.
•Support recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and succession planning.
•Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and results.
•Drive employee engagement and capability development across regions.

Minimum requirements

•Relevant Business Qualification ie MDP or equivalent and/or a qualification in an electrical trade.
•Sales or Key Account Management Certification advantageous.
•Financial Management or Budgeting course advantageous.
Essential Experience:
•Minimum 5 years proven sales experience.
•Minimum 5 years in the commercial field of marketing and effective communication.
•Minimum 3 years experience in international market in terms of commercial activities.
•Experience working with CRM/ERP systems such as Salesforce, SAP, or similar platforms will be advantageous.
